Mary Help of Christians Academy is a private Catholic all-girls college preparatory high school in North Haledon, New Jersey that prepares young women to be leaders for today and tomorrow. Administered by the Salesian Sisters of St. John Bosco in partnership with a faculty and staff of talented educators, the Academy offers its students a holistic education rooted in the Salesian principles of reason, religion, and loving kindness.
Throughout its 76-year history, the Academy has empowered its students to pursue and successfully achieve careers in a variety of industries by offering them a comprehensive college prep program with Advanced Placement courses, college credit opportunities, and specialized internships. In 2016, graduates of the Academy were awarded over $8 million in merit scholarships for undergraduate studies - an average of $290,000 per student. Graduates are regularly granted admission to highly competitive universities, including recent acceptances to Princeton, Dartmouth, Cornell, Boston University, The College of New Jersey, and New York University, to name a few.
Looking forward, the Academy will expand its specialized internship opportunities and use of educational technology, while focusing on prospects for future growth as it continues to distinguish itself as an institution at which young women gain the necessary skills to serve as leaders formed in the values of “Beauty, Truth, and Joy.”
