FAITH
LEARNED
The
Religious Studies Department of Mary Help of Christians
Academy is committed to fostering the integral faith development
of our students. We seek to provide the means for students
to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ as they
learn, celebrate and live their faith.
Growth in faith requires ongoing systematic instruction
in the truths of the faith. Throughout our four-year religious
studies curriculum, students receive a solid foundation
in the teachings of the Catholic Church. The basis of this
teaching is found in Sacred Scripture and Sacred Tradition
as presented in the Catechism of the Catholic Church. This
instruction includes the Creed, the Ten Commandments, prayer,
worship, the Sacraments, the Hebrew and Christian scriptures,
morality and contemporary moral/life/justice issues, the
history of Christianity, Christian vocations, social justice,
and our relationship with other religions.
