ANA MARIA AUXILIUM AWARD

Ana Maria Baldor-Bunn spent the last two of her thirty years courageously battling cancer. She was diagnosed in May of 2000, while pregnant with her first and only child, William.
It is in memory of the spirit of Ana Maria Baldor-Bunn, (1972–2002) that this scholarship fund was established.
A student from each class for the coming year - freshman through senior - becomes the recipient, receiving a full scholarship for the upcoming year.
Annual nominations are made by students, with the endorsement of their families and friends, through a formal application in April.
Based on applications, the principal of MHCA and the chairperson of the Dames of Mary Help select the annual recipients of the award.
The criteria require that:
- She lives as a good Christian and honest citizen using her gifts and talents in the service of others.
- Her family actively supports and enhances the spirit of MHCA.
- She shows an active participation in her lived faith in school, church, and community.
- She exhibits a conscientious approach to academics and the activities of MHCA.
This year the award went to:
- Maria Vidal - Freshmen
- Lauren Sedeyn - Sophomore
- Kathleen Jordan - Junior
- Lorette Dufrene - Senior
It is in memory of the spirit of Ana Maria Baldor-Bunn, (1972–2002) that this scholarship fund was established.
She believed that “one should seize and enjoy the moment and make the best of what God lays before you. If you have been wanting to do something with your life, do it now and never delay.”

TRUE VALOR
Although this page is for student achievements, those of parents often say much about our students. For this reason we want to extend a big kudos to Mr. Bill Redmon, parent of freshman Paula Redmon, who was given the Medal of Valor for saving a man from a burning building. He is a volunteer fireman for Hawthorne. Congratulations, Mr. Redmon.
