Teacher of Music
Professional singer, choral director and mother: I have been enjoying these three roles for over twenty years now, and I wouldn't change a thing. I am blessed and grateful for the joy music brings to my life and the lives of others. I remain focused on building music programs and creating community.
As a music educator, I have the opportunity everyday to inspire and lift my students through the power of a song. I have learned the importance of creating a safe space in order for my students to explore the instrument within: their voice. A singer must remain present and fully engage in the moment, telling the story. Seems like a simple task, but is it really? Now more than ever, the performing arts play an important role in our lives. The arts teach us to remain ever present in the moment, focused, calm and confident. These are sound life skills that each of my students will have as they move through life.
