Our 2019 Varsity Softball Season kicked off with a victory on Tuesday April 2nd with an away game, where we defeating Eastern Christian 3-2. Senior, pitcher, Bryonna Richburg went 3 for 3, with a triple & 2 RBIs and Junior, center fielder, Emily Toresi scored the tying run in the top of the 6th and drove in an RBI in the top of the 7th to give our Blue Jays the lead. Mary Help played a great defensive game to secure the win, with big plays by sophomore Valerie Jachimski in left field, Senior Natalie DeCindio at short stop and two crucial plays by sophomore, third baseman, Alyssa Cogdell to end the game in the 7th. Our Blue Jays were also victorious in their home opener on Wednesday April 3rd vs Elmwood Park High School, defeating the Crusaders 11-6. Sophomore Savannah Susen had a big day at the plate, going 3 for 4, including a double & driving in 4 RBI. Also contributing 2 RBI each were Senior Natalie DeCindio, Junior Emily Toresi and Sophomore Alyssa Cogdell. With our third game of the week having been rained out, we go into the second week of the season 2-0. The Softball schedule can be found under the Athletics tab of the our site. Looking back at our 2018-2019 Winter Season, our Varsity Basketball Team finished with a winning record of 11-10. The team was led in scoring by Junior Emily Toresi who accumulated 251 points and Senior Natalie DeCindio who had 178 points for the season. Both players were nominated to the Passaic All-County Honorable Mention Team and were both also featured on NorthJersey.com's list of top girls basketball scorers for the 2018-2019 Season.
