Scholarships
The Academy awards merit scholarships to qualified students who exhibit exemplary academic performance and great potential to succeed. Scholarships generally fall into one of three distinct categories: Annual Merit Awards, the Ana Maria Auxilium Award, or Named/Specialty Scholarships.

Merit Scholarships
Merit-based scholarships are available to all applicants who demonstrate excellence on the High School Proficiency Test as well as their academic transcripts. Eighth grade students should register online for the HSPT and list Mary Help of Christians Academy (code 147) as a school choice. The HSPT will take place on Friday, November 10, 2023. MHCA is available as a Testing Site. Online registration is at www.njcoopexam.org. Registration deadline is October 28, 2023

Other Scholarships available to Registered Students Only
2024-2025 applications will be made available in February and emailed to registered students.

Ana Maria Award
The selection process for the Ana Maria Scholarship is highly competitive, with a single student chosen per grade level each year. This full tuition award is available only to registered students, and all families will be notified when the application is released. Awards are announced in late Spring for the upcoming year.

Deadline: March 1st

Specialty Scholarships
Newly registered and returning students who have not already been awarded a renewable merit scholarship (or who are seeking additional funding opportunities) may submit the general Scholarship Opportunities Application to be considered for all existing scholarships.

Deadline: March 1st

Financial Assistance Opportunities

MHC Academy Tuition Assistance Fund
The Academy makes every best effort to lessen the tuition burden for families in need by awarding a limited number of financial grants from the Academy's Tuition Assistance Fund. To qualify for financial assistance, applicants must have received an offer of acceptance and submitted a separate financial aid application online. The Academy cannot estimate aid awards or process aid applications until the student’s admission application has been reviewed and decided.

MHC Academy partners with FACTS Management, a subsidiary of Nelnet, to process students' applications for assistance. FACTS is an independent financial review company that relies on the submission of detailed and confidential financial information to determine each family's eligibility for assistance based on financial need. Awards of financial assistance are made on a one-year basis pending the submission of an updated application by February 15th of each subsequent year.

Freshman applicants may take advantage of Financial Aid Early Determination. Early Determination applicants will receive financial aid offers in their acceptance packets - up to 3 months earlier than in prior years - when they submit their completed financial aid applications with supporting documents via FACTS on or before the December 4th admissions deadline.
2024-2025 Deadline Information

Early Determination Deadline (Freshmen Applicants Only): Friday, December 4th
