Soccer
Team Information: Varsity Soccer is a Fall Sport at MHC Academy under the direction of Coach Ken Van Rye (since 2015) and Assistant Coach, Emily Toresi (MHC Alumna ‘20). Soccer tryouts are held in August, and games are played in September & October.
Fall 2023 Season Recap: Congratulations to Scarlett Black (‘25) who was selected to be honored at the New Jersey Girls Soccer Coaches Association All State Banquet. Black gathered along with the top female high school soccer players from across the state of New Jersey and received Sectional Recognition, representing Mary Help of Christians Academy.
Fall 2022 Season Recap: Our Varsity Soccer team had another successful fall, finishing the season with a 9-1-1 record. Our Blue Jays out scored their opponents 36-6, including 7 shutouts. The leading scorer for the team this year was sophomore Scarlett Black with 11 goals, followed by senior Ellie Cipollone with 8 goals, Senior Molly Ursich with 5 goals and sophomore Sofia Cueva with 4 goals. Senior Sarah Mecka led the team with 5 assists, followed by sophomores Patricia Mazzola and Black with 3 assists each.
The 2022 team graduated our four Senior Captains, #3 Ellie Cipollone, #47 Sarah Mecka, #4 Lilly Susen and #25 Molly Ursich. 
Fall 2021 Season Recap: Our Varsity Soccer team went 13-3-2 this season, the best record in school history. Our Blue Jays reached the State Quarterfinals. Senior, Ava Porter, was selected to be honored at the New Jersey Girls Soccer Coaches Association All State Banquet on January 16, 2022. November15, 2021 our Varsity Soccer Coach, Ken Van Rye, was honored at the Bergen County Soccer Officials Association season ending banquet, in appreciation for his 15 years of service.
2020-2021 Season Summary : This year's roster was made up of 13 returning players and 4 first year players, including 3 freshmen and 1 Senior. The team was led by our six seniors, #23 Alyssa Cogdell, #5 Courtney Corbett, #2 Kayla Sullivan and our three Captains, #10 Jesley Delgado, #6 Dori Hans and #8 Savannah Susen.
