Focus on Athletics

Our 2019-2020 Winter Season is in full swing! All of our Winter Athletes have been working hard since November and continue to soar as we move into the final month of February.

Our swim program just wrapped up their second season and did a phenomenal job. We went into the season with six returning swimmers and five new members. Two of our returnees were seniors, Carolina Herrera (Captain) and Jazmin Mora-Amaya, who we were able to celebrate at their final meet on Thursday, January 23rd. We are very proud of all our swimmers and are excited about the future of our swim program as it continues to grow and become more successful.

Our bowling team is about to wrap up their season with their final league match on Tuesday, February 4th. Our five Varsity Bowlers, who are made up of one senior, Audrey McMillin, and four juniors, Savannah Susen, Kayla Sullivan, Mary Swartzberg and Dolores Hans, have worked tirelessly throughout the season competing in a predominantly male league. Our team competed in the Girls' Passaic County Bowling Tournament on Friday, January 17th, earning fourth place, coming in behind two group 4's & a group 3 school.

Both our Basketball Program and Dance Team are halfway through their seasons. Our Varsity & JV Basketball Teams are working tirelessly to build on last year's winning season and be just as successful this season, if not more. Our Dance Team is also working very hard as they not only cheer at our Blue Jays Varsity Home games but also travel up to Ramsey, to perform at the Don Bosco Ironmen's Varsity Basketball games as well! On Thursday, February 20th, we will be celebrating our seniors at our final basketball home game of the regular season. Let's Go Blue Jays!

Thank you to everyone who supported our Fall/Winter Fundraiser by purchasing an athletic sponsor t-shirt this year. We love to see all the BLUE JAY PRIDE we have as a community! There are extra t-shirts for sale in our athletic store, the Sports Stop, which is open during all home games!

Our Fall Cheer Team spent Sunday, January 26th at The Tides, for the Annual Don Bosco Football Banquet, where we celebrated our Ironmen brothers and we were also honored to be recognized by the staff, players and parents! It was a beautiful day to come together and applaud all the hard work that is put into a successful season. We can't wait till next year! Let's Go, Bosco!!

After all of our Winter Seasons are complete our athletes have a short break before our Spring Seasons begin on Friday, March 6th. We are looking forward to another successful Softball Season with numbers and success growing each year. We are also hoping to start up lacrosse again this spring, with interest numbers being very high with our underclassmen.
