Curriculum Overview
MHC Academy offers two levels of academic study: college preparatory and honors. Initial placements are made based upon admissions exam scores, academic records, and teacher recommendation. The Academy strives to ensure that each student is placed appropriately within her assigned level of study; any movement between levels requires administrative review and approval.
In order to graduate, students must earn a minimum of 145 total academic credits from the areas listed below. In addition, community service hours and attendance requirements must also be met. The course requirements meet both Diocesan and state mandates for high school graduation. All course curricula meet the criteria of the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards.

A wide range of elective courses are offered to complement the required sequence of study. Students may sample electives across departments and are encouraged to explore their career options by choosing courses from our academic pillars, which are aligned to professional fields. Seminars and internships allow students to obtain the hands on experience necessary for college and beyond.
Many of our graduates enter college with advanced standing either by successfully completing Advanced Placement courses or through our dual enrollment programs with degree-granting institutions. To learn more about the curriculum and graduation requirements, please download our Program of Studies.
