Focus On: Ministry

At the heart of their spiritual journey through high school, MHC Academy students participate in class retreats throughout the year. This October, the Freshmen class and Senior class will connect with God, their friends, and their hearts. Retreats give our students the opportunity to build community and foster new relationships. In stepping away from cell phones, the internet, and their studies, our students have an amazing opportunity to understand their faith and claim it as their own. By spending a faith filled day together, the young women also make new friends and form bonds that will take them through their high school years.

On October 1st, Campus Ministry held the Freshmen Retreat on campus at Mary Help. This year's theme was “We are One Body”. With ropes course activities, team building through small groups and prayer, the girls learned they are not alone in this new transition.

Campus Ministry hosted a Tag Day fundraiser on Friday, October 4th for Straight and Narrow, a Catholic Charities Program within the Diocese of Paterson. Straight and Narrow's facility was recently destroyed by fire this summer. Thankfully, none of our service recipients or staff members were harmed.
