Television Production & Media

 

A class designed for students interested in exploring the world of broadcast media and storytelling through video. This hands-on course covers the fundamentals of television production, including scriptwriting, directing, and editing. Students will learn to work collaboratively in a production team to create original content, from music videos to short films to mini documentaries. 

Along with class work, the students will lead the way in producing the broadcast morning news show "Wake Up Bluejays". The morning show is produced every morning and is completely run by students in areas such as directing, anchoring, script writing, graphics, and sound design. The morning show is part of the television production class expectations and grading though also considered an extracurricular, as students are expected to come to school early each morning. This show leads off the day for the Academy every morning and is an important part of the TV Production program.
